The Ray wind farm near Kirkwhelpington in Northumberland was put into operation in 2018.
The region receives a community fund over the lifetime of the wind farm to support local community priorities.
Since 2023, Ray wind farm has been connected to a battery storage system. The batteries, with a total output of 20 MW, help balance the electricity system and make the grid more stable.
