Since 2010, Vattenfall has operated a waste incineration plant in the port of Rostock.
The plant uses municipal and commercial waste from the Hanseatic city of Rostock and surrounding areas. As the largest waste incineration plant in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, it generates electricity and heat in an efficient combined heat and power process.
