Torpshammar is a village in Ånge Municipality, located where the Gimån River leads to the Ljungan River. The Gimån is 80 kilometres long and stretches from Lake Revsundasjön in the north east to Torpshammar downstream.
Torpshammar Power Station was commissioned in 1943. The station is situated underground and has two turbines.
