The solar park is located south of Tilburg, near the border with Belgium.
The municipality of Goirle wants to be a low-carbon municipality by 2050 with 80% less CO emissions than in 2014. To achieve this goal, the municipality wants to generate more electricity through solar and wind energy. Solar park Goirle with a capacity of 15 MW contributes to this.
Vattenfall has taken the initiative to develop this solar park between the road Gorps Baantje, the fruit farm De Braacken and the forest.
