Commissioned in 2000, the Lelystad plant produces district heating and a small amount of electricity for households in the town of the same name.
The Lelystad plant is an incineration plant and uses around 22,000 tonnes of biomass per year. The biomass used consists mainly of residual biomass from the maintenance of parks, roadsides and forests.
