Commissioned in 2000, the Lelystad plant produces district heating and a small amount of electricity for households in the town of the same name.
The Lelystad plant is an incineration plant that uses around 22,000 tonnes of biomass per year. This biomass mainly consists of residues from the maintenance of parks, roadsides and native forests.
