When Rejsby Hede Wind Farm was built in 1995, it was the largest onshore wind farm in Denmark.
The municipality of Tønder in South Jutland is one of the best locations for wind turbines thanks to the flat terrain and very high average wind speeds. The turbines at Rejsby Hede, located very close to the coast, have an annual production equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 11,000 households.
