Tjæreborg Enge

Tjæreborg Enge
The Tjæreborg Enge wind farm is beautifully situated between the North Sea and the village of Tjæreborg.

The area around Tjæreborg has often been used to test new turbine types. Between 1996 and 2002, a number of prototypes from various manufacturers were erected and tested here. Among these was a turbine similar to the Horns Rev 1 turbine, which was often used for training purposes.

Until 2001, Tjæreborg was home to the famous Tjæreborg wind turbine, which was one of the pioneering wind turbines used to gain knowledge and experience of wind energy in Denmark.
