Tjæreborg Enge Wind Farm

Tjæreborg Enge Wind Farm
Beautifully situated between the North Sea and Tjæreborg town, we find the Tjæreborg Enge Wind Farm with eight turbines, seven of which are owned by Vattenfall.

The area around Tjæreborg has often been used to test new turbine types. Between 1996 and 2002, a number of prototypes of different makes were continuously erected and tested. Among these was a turbine similar to the Horns Rev 1 turbine, which was often used for training purposes.

Until 2001, Tjæreborg was home to the famous Tjæreborg wind turbine, which was one of the pioneering wind turbines used to gain knowledge and experience of wind energy in Denmark.
