Rostock CHP plant - turning waste to energy

Since 2010, Vattenfall has been operating a newly built waste incineration plant in the port of Rostock, in which municipal and commercial waste from the Hanseatic city of Rostock and surrounding districts is used to generate energy. The plant is the largest waste incineration plant in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and generates electricity and heat as a highly efficient combined heat and power plant.
