Krümmel nuclear power plant is located in Geesthacht, 30 kilometers south-east of Hamburg.
From its commissioning in September 1983 until its operating licence expired in August 2011, the Krümmel nuclear power plant generated a net output of 201,712,092.40 MWh.
Ownership is divided between Vattenfall and PreussenElektra, with Vattenfall responsible for operating the facility. Vattenfall also has shareholdings in the Brunsbüttel nuclear power plant, as well as a 20% minority stake in Brokdorf.
