The offshore wind farm Vesterhav Nord can supply around 180,000 households with fossil-free electricity each year.
Vesterhav Nord is located in the North Sea, 5.5-8.4 kilometres from Thyborøn and Ferring Sø on the Jutland coast. The wind farm covers a total area of 39.6 square kilometres.
Together with Vesterhav Syd, Vesterhav Nord is the first offshore wind farm in which local residents and holiday home owners could buy shares. 1,752 people have taken advantage of this opportunity.
The maintenance of Vesterhav Nord is managed from a service office in Hvide Sande and a satellite facility in Thyborøn.
