Åsele power plant on the river Ångermanälven, about 8 kilometers south of the town of Åsele, was put into operation in in 1981.
The facility operates a bulb turbine and utilises a head (drop) of 11 metres.
Åseleälven, the main branch of the river Ångermanälven, is already fully developed for hydro power purposes downstream of the Åsele plant.
