Långbjörn hydro power plant on the river Ångermanälven was commissioned in 1959.
As part of Vattenfall's dam safety programme, the dam in Långbjörn was reinforced in 2005 and 2006 to be able to handle extreme water flows, which are expected to occur once every 10,000 years.
