Pengfors hydro power plant, located about 40 kilometers from the city of Umeå, was commissioned in 1954.
Vattenfall took over the Pengfors power plant from E.ON at the beginning of 2010.
In 2014, Vattenfall carried out extensive modernisation work at the power plant. The turbine and generator were upgraded, which increased the plant's efficiency.
