Rusfors power plant on the river Ume älv has been in operation since 1962. The power plant has one Kaplan turbine and a head (drop) of 12 metres.
In 2009, the Rusfors power plant was repaired, as were the water reservoir and the adjacent spillway. In addition, minor rebuilding work was carried out on the spillway. These measures are expected to significantly prolong the lifespan of the facility.
