Rusfors

Rusfors
Rusfors Hydro Power Station is located in the northern part of Sweden by the Ume Älv River. It was first commissioned in 1962, incorporating a Kaplan turbine with an installed capacity of 41 MW and a head (drop) of 12 metres.

Repair work in 2009

In 2009, the Rusfors facility underwent construction work as a result of erosion damage, assumed to have been caused by frost bursting. The reservoir and adjacent spillway were repaired and some minor rebuilding work was performed on the spillway. The action taken is expected to significantly prolong the lifespan of the facility.
