Tuggen hydro power plant is situated by the river Ume älv, about 20 kilometres downstream of the town of Lycksele.
Construction of the facility started in 1957 and it was first commissioned in 1962. It has two Kaplan turbines and a head (drop) of 28 metres.
Tuggen power plant is jointly owned by Vattenfall and Holmen AB.
