De Hoge Vaart

De Hoge Vaart
Construction of De Hoge Vaart began in summer 2024, and the solar park was officially inaugurated in March 2026.

Located on the outskirts of Zeewolde, the solar park covers an area of 21 hectares. Of this, 15 hectares are occupied by solar panels, while the remaining 6 hectares have been dedicated to nature development and landscape integration. Alder hedges and black alder trees have been planted, and species-rich grassland has been established between the panels to enhance biodiversity.

The project also benefits the local community. Residents were able to co-invest by purchasing bonds, and the scheme was fully subscribed. Vattenfall contributes annually to the municipality to support sustainability initiatives, while the local energy cooperative receives funding to help members improve the energy efficiency of their homes and support other local projects.
