Gejmån Power Station is situated on the Gejmån River, a tributary of the Umeälven River within the mountain region of Tärna Municipality, about 350 km from the Umeälven River outlet.
The Gejmån River, which drains the lakes Arevattnet, Ropen, Abelvattnet and Bleriken, flows into the lake called Övre Björkvattnet. The plant utilises the fall section between the lakes Bleriken and Övre Björkvattnet. The gross head (drop) is about 250 m. The power station was first commissioned in 1970.
